Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. Cares for Alligator Found at Mill Pond

Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. announces that an alligator has been in its care after it was brought in by a couple who found it at Mill Pond in Valley Stream.

On June 4, a couple spotted a two-and-a-half-foot alligator at Mill Pond. Once they were able to capture the reptile, they contacted Central Veterinary Associates, who told them to bring it in since they are experienced with such exotics. The alligator is currently under the care of Dr. John Charos, who has been practicing veterinary medicine on small and exotic animals and reptiles at Central Veterinary Associates for more than 20 years.

Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. Offers Free Rabies Vaccinations for Over 100 Pets

As a public service, veterinarians from Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. came to Pet Works in Lawrence to provide free rabies vaccinations for pets on May 22. More than 100 pets were vaccinated. Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. urged pet owners to have their pets vaccinated for rabies, not only to ensure their pet's health, but because it is mandated by New York State law.

Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. Offers Low-Cost Microchip Clinic at "Pets & Pals Party"

On May 15, veterinarians from Central Veterinary Associates, P.C., Terrace Animal Clinic in Great Neck and Bayside Animal Clinic held a low-cost microchip clinic at Alley Pond Park in Douglaston. Proceeds from the event went to benefit the Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) and the New York City Veterinary Emergency Response Team (NYC VERT). A microchip ensures the pet's health and safety in the event they are lost or run away.
